Guild President’s Message

One of my greatest pleasures among many as President of the Daytona Beach Symphony Guild is the privilege and opportunity to welcome you to this amazing 66th season of the Daytona Beach Symphony Society.

The Symphony Guild is indeed a force, a group of more than 300-plus dedicated and committed lovers of music. Our members are focused and work in concert to achieve the shared mission and goals of serving as the Society’s fundraising arm, promoting community awareness, and providing volunteer support.

I encourage you to meet and converse with our Guild members. Music lovers at heart, the Guild has been sharing its enthusiasm for bringing the performing arts to Daytona Beach since 1955. I hope you will visit our Symphony Guild Boutique in the Peabody lobby during performances. I would also like to invite you to join us at our “Dancing for Dreams” event on January 20, 2018, and our annual Spring Luncheon and fashion show, on April, 7, 2018, which are only two examples of the many events we hold in support of Symphony Society programs such as YES! (Youth Experiencing Symphony), which brings thousands of our area youth to performances each season. It is encouraging to know that everything we do that leaves a positive impact in the lives of children can and will make a world of difference. I am especially delighted to report that our fundraising efforts resulted in a gift of over $35,400 to the Symphony Society during the 2016-2017 Season.

We invite you to join us at our Symphony Guild meetings on the 1st Monday of each month, October through May, at St. James Episcopal Church (38 S. Halifax Drive, Ormond Beach). Free parking is provided and the meeting begins with hospitality at 9:30 AM. Guild business is conducted from 10:00 to 11:00 AM followed by performances from talented local artists and students. At the meetings you will have the opportunity to purchase tickets to our many events and PONs (Parties of Note) while you visit with old friends and make new ones.

I continue to consider it a privilege to join this organization and encourage each of you to join as we develop relationships, work on shared goals, and make fundraising fun!

Please feel free to contact me at 386.265.1202 if you have any questions about the Guild.
“May you live each day of your life with music!”
